Routes Update
RP’s map utility, RPMap, works, but is not the state of the art. We’re sorry about that. We’re in the thick of making it the best.
This week we added:
AutoRouting
We usually run on roads, and so do your routes. Click on the map and RPMap will find the shortest path along the road between those two points. To undo an AutoRouted segment, hit undo
. Disable AutoRouting with the options checkbox (in right panel).
AutoCentering
Panning is a pain. Now, clicking near the edge of the map advances it in that direction. The closer you click to the edge, the more it will pan. Disable panning with the options checkbox (in panel on right).
Advanced Undo
Use the undo button
to undo all sorts of things. Clear the route (
) by accident? Don’t like that AutoRoute segment? Shouldn’t have erased that point (
)? Just hit undo and no body will ever have to know about that gaffe.
Of course there is more to come, but we were just so excited we had to roll these out for you. Expect a complete overhaul of the interface soon.
Let us know what you like and what is not quite cooked yet.
Yeah it’s real good. Useful. Mildly intuitive…. Can we get some elevation change numbers included on the elevation profile, that would be sweet! Up and Down?
Sure thing. These features were in the current revision we’ve been working on, but I just pushed them out for you. Numbers display is a little rough, but it will be polished soon.
