Now you can go back in time on the mileage board to the pedal ventures of yore. Click the chevron symbols («) to move forward or back a month and it will update instantly on the page.

What’s more, you can expand the mileage board to show up to 50 people from the default of 20. Simply click on the ellipses at the bottom of the board and it will update instantly in the page.

NOTE: This works on the home page only presently and will be soon be expanded to team mileage boards.

NOTE2: The mileage board is presently unable to predict your future mileage, so you may only move forward in time up to the current month.

What does this mean? Routing on a map used to take many if not hundreds of clicks to do accurately. Now, it can often take 5-10 clicks total. For example, the route around Central Park on the right took only 4 clicks to complete.

Note: that Google Maps still does not allow walking directions along some one way streets. There is an open support ticket with Google to work on the issue.

RP’s map utility, RPMap, works, but is not the state of the art. We’re sorry about that. We’re in the thick of making it the best.

This week we added:

AutoRouting

We usually run on roads, and so do your routes. Click on the map and RPMap will find the shortest path along the road between those two points. To undo an AutoRouted segment, hit undo . Disable AutoRouting with the options checkbox (in right panel).

AutoCentering

Panning is a pain. Now, clicking near the edge of the map advances it in that direction. The closer you click to the edge, the more it will pan. Disable panning with the options checkbox (in panel on right).

Advanced Undo

Use the undo button to undo all sorts of things. Clear the route () by accident? Don’t like that AutoRoute segment? Shouldn’t have erased that point ()? Just hit undo and no body will ever have to know about that gaffe.

Of course there is more to come, but we were just so excited we had to roll these out for you. Expect a complete overhaul of the interface soon.

Let us know what you like and what is not quite cooked yet.

We’ve received a lot of feedback about our Activity Trail – thanks to those who contributed. We tried to come up with a standardized way to show what everyone wanted but decided it was better to let you decide! The Activity Trail is now tunable to your own personal tastes.

Want to see everything happening on RunPartner? Set each filter to All. Too much information, use Lite? Narrow your results down by sport, activity, and user group. We’ve tried to keep a balance of simplicity and functionality. Let us know what you think!

Key Features

Select a setting for People, Sport and Activity filters – they work in symphony

Filters are sticky – they remember your choices

Use the more button to extend the trail for older activities

Results are clickable – click for more information

Use Lite to ignore comments and ratings

Examples

My Top 7 / Run / Competition – shows only races for your Top Seven run partners

My Top 7 is a list seven (or fewer) of your friends that you want to follow assiduously. Use the My Top 7 filter button in the Activity Trail 2.0 to see just these individuals.

Setup

One simple step. Visit Settings > Top 7 and select up to seven of your current run partners. Piece of cake.

NOTE: if you are no longer friends with a member of your Top 7, they will not appear in your Activity Trail.
