FAQ
Admit it, regardless of our running abilities, we’ve all done it. We’ve competitively wondered if we were faster than someone we walked/ran/drove by in passing, be they a Kenyan, babyjogger, or postal worker.
We have the same bad habit, so we got a fix using the new verses mode for the Competitions page. Similar to the verses mode for the Analysis page, your can compare another person’s PR’s across events with your own and learn who would win in a duel and by how much.
To use, visit a friend’s profile, click
Comps, and then the Them vs Me tab on the top right of the Competitions page. Our apologies that it takes several seconds to tabulate these numbers for you, but the process is rather complex. We’re working on speeding it up.
We hope you like it, just don’t get to cocky.
Update
Competitions are among the most critical facets of a running log. While some run purely for health, for most members competitions are their climax for the year/season. We added a bunch of competition features to help you track your competitions and let your friends know about them. Nevertheless, there are many more fun features to come with competitions, so you just hold onto your shorts.
Competitions appears in several places all over the site:
Log/Calendar/Add Activity
Use the
link to add a competition from either the link in the Day/Month view, or from the icon in Add Activity when “competitions” type is selected. Click the
button to edit a selected competition in Add Activity, or click on it in the calendar Day view. You can delete a competition from the edit competition window, but only if it is not being used on an existing activity.
Home
Here you can see the competitions run by your run partners over the last 2 days. You can see what time they ran and what that competition’s name was. You can also click on that activity to view it in their log.
Team
Similar implementation to what is found in home, but team specific and the last 7 day’s worth of competitions.
Profile
See the last 5 competitions run by your friends and click on them to go and read more about them in the log.
Competitions
Now see the name of the competition you got your PR in. You can also click the edit icon
to modify the competition here or the add competition icon
to include a new one.
Update
Remember that rating feature

that lets you give other/yourself users 1-5 stars on activities? We didn’t forget, but it is easy to forget when a rating was made long ago.
Now the top 5 ratings a user received are visible in their profile in the Top Rated Activities board. Click an activity to remember that climactic moment either personally, or vicariously.
Update
Predictions are fun, just look at the vacuous postings filling the internet’s blogs. At RunPartner we have a more concrete prediction for you: your year’s mileage. While this is a basic extrapolation of your average day’s mileage and the days left in the year, we hope it allows you to better gauge where you are and where you want to be for the year.
It is January, the time when you can still radically correct your mileage for the year and achieve your goals. So checkout the new Yearly Totals board in the profile to compare where you are to where you have been in past years and where you are going.
