Don’t Tell Everyone

December 22nd, 2009

Ever wanted to comment on someone’s run/profile with material that the entire world does not need to know about? Perhaps you want to let your friend know the striking similarity of their countenance during the last 400m of a race had to that of a dead possum. Perhaps you want to let them know their running outfit was a tad too meretricious.

Now you can. Use the privateĀ  checkbox when commenting on another user/activity and only they can see it, no one else. To keep you from hyperventilating when you receive a raucous posting, the icon will also appear next to it.

Finally, if you don’t like a posting your receive for any reason, private or public, use the icon to send it away to the memory hole.

Are you Streaking?

December 13th, 2009

At RunPartner we are continually trying to think of ways to keep you engaged in social interactions over running. That is our central thesis. Today we introduce the Streak Board. In contrast to a mileage board, a streak is how many consecutive days you have logged (starting yesterday) with no gaps.

Based on the streak board, a runner who puts in 5 miles a day, for the last 3 years interrupted can have an edge on the hot shot that ran 126 miles in 3 days last week. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Injury Tracker Complete

December 12th, 2009

When you are injured and unable to run, the last thing you want is for others to just think you are a wuss not logging miles. Alas, Injury Tracker is here for you!

Checkout the new medkit icon Add Injury (like in Castle Wolfenstein) in the calendar view and complete the popup. Note that you can have private injuries which your run partners cannot see. Injuries for a day are also shown in the day view of the calendar.

To edit an injury, visit a day for which the injury is present and click on the injury link Edit Injury at the top of the page. You can either update or delete it from this popup.

Let us know if you can think of any other improvements or aliments we missed.
