Worth the Weight

October 31st, 2009

We get feature requests at RunPartner all the time. Rest assured, you requests get thrown in a dusty desk drawer. And, from time to time, the RunPartner Team implements some of them. This is one such request.

Few populations of human beings outside the ballet are so unhealthy or concerned with their weight as distance runners. Some of us run to lose weight for healthy reasons. Other strive to be ultra gaunt, while others run for the gorging freedom it allows. Now on RunPartner you can log your weight with each activity and see where you are during your weight progression.

NOTE: Because many people are sensitive to their height and weight, these are purely private user attributes. Just like Private Comments, no other RunPartner member can see these but you. Private parameters appear with a privacy icon next to them to remind you of their exclusivity.

Blog-a-Log

October 3rd, 2009

Some users maintain WordPress or BlogSpot blogs to showcase their endurance exploits. We added many elements throughout RP now so these users can easily send their activities straight to their blogs. See Settings>Blog Link to setup the Blog Link. Activities can be sent to your blog on demand from the calendar’s day view, or automatically 10min after they are logged.

Note that the AutoBlog option waits 10min after an activity entry is made and then sends it to your blog. This delay is to allow you to proof read and correct your activity before it is sent out to the world. If you want to blog your run instantly, then click the BlogLink icon in the top right of the day view. AutoBlog will only post once to your blog, so if you use the instant option, don’t worry about it being sent twice.

Keep up the good times and we’ll keep the features coming.
