The devil is in the details in distributed web applications, but we have the devil well under control. User control for custom timezones, temperature, monetary, and length units is now fully integrated into the site.
What does this mean for John Q. Runner? Check out other running sites late at night and you might be curious why your mileage calendar tells you it’s Sunday, but it is really Saturday. Or perhaps the mileage board is showing June but it is really still May. These sites run a singe timezone and do not accommodate unique user timezones and daylight savings time. We do now.
Hit up your Settings Page (must _blank) to modify your units of choice and get the units pampering you deserve. Note that we automatically detected your timezone during registration, so if you were on a business trip to Tehran, that would explain why your log was curiously ahead of the times.
Update
RP code monkeys are glad to announce the completion of the Import Wizard following another abstinence wrought weekend of debugging!
If you are a RP member, you have made the conscious choice to log your runs. You decided that you care so much about your fitness, that it needs to be protected from the ephemeral state of lesser athletes’ ventures. We agree fully. Your runs are encrypted and backed up in three different datacenters across the United States hourly. Never forget!
But when you move from one logging site to another, must you abandon all your painstakingly earned and recorded hard work? Not with RP! Using the new Import Wizard you can almost instantly pull thousands of activities, shoes, routes, and workouts from external sites straight into your own logs!
Import Wizard has been initially rolled out to Athleticore users, but will soon be extended to Running2Win, RunningAhead, and CoolRunning. But what you say, if you want to leave RP? We are not knavish, you can also export everything from RunPartner and take it with you just as easily. Though before you spurn us, let us know why. We promise we’ll make it better!
To access the Import Wizard visit Settings>Log Importer and click Launch Importer.
